Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Pic and Life

It has been quite some time since we have posted. Life has been a bit hectic in the Schurger household to say the least. To sum it up, we moved into our house, Tony got H1N1 which kicked his butt for a long time, we found out we were expecting our first little one, and now here we are at the holidays already (not to mention we worked in there as well). Things has been crazy but God has been so good! We are feeling blessed beyond belief!
Speaking of blessings, we had the opportunity to spend an evening with our dear friends last night. We hosted an ugly Christmas sweater party! We had such a great time fellowshipping and admiring the ugly sweaters! Some pictures are posted below! My two favorites of the night were David with his lighted sweater (he carried his extention cord around all evening), and Josh who wore his mother's Christmas tree sweater! Awesome!!

Wesleyan Married Couples Retreat

We had such an exhausting yet wonderful weekend at WMCR! We had our first session on Friday and then Tony and I played in a Euchre tournament. We played until about 1 a.m. and lost in the final round. We got up Saturday, had breakfast and then one first session. The speakers were really wonderful. They discussed how we need to not turn our desires in marriage into expectations. They also discussed the need for Christians to take back the marriage bed back from Satan. It has been portrayed in such an inappropriate way in the media. It was all just very facinating. We played Wildcat games before lunch and our team (the cowboy hats) won so we all got IWU t-shirts. Then several of us that went from our church played in a volleyball tournment where we lost to the same team that beat us last year! I ended up with a goose egg on my knee! It was fun though. That evening we had a hoedown. They had a cowboy band play during dinner and then there was a caller for square dancing! We all decided to give it a try and ended up having so much fun! We giggled and danced around for at least an hour and a half! Who knew square dancing could be such entertainment! It sure brought back some memories from middle school. To end the evening we took a horse pulled hay ride. It was so beautiful riding under a peaceful starlit evening. It was really nice to spend time with one another and focusing on us as a couple. Spending time with our friends all weekend and relaxing was also really wonderful. Good is God!

NEW HOUSE!

We finally have a house...mostly. We first looked at this house when we started looking 7 months ago. It was not on the market for too aweful long and then it got an offer. We were also going to put an offer on it at that time. So we knew we couldnt get it and went about our search. We recently found that the original offer fell through so we put our offer on the house and got it. Praise be to God! We have not closed on it yet, but will be very soon...pending inspections. It was built in 2005 so it should not be a problem. Here are some pictures of the inside of the house. Enjoy.

Our Friends...

Last night we went over to our friends Stephen and Michelle's house for a cookout with them and another couple we hang out with. As we were sitting around just shooting the breeze and laughing at the children (and Tony) I realized how much I was going to miss getting to do that. Not that we won't ever get to see Stephen and Michelle but I will miss getting all of us getting to hang out like we do. I so enjoy the time we all spend together! P.S....thanks for the motorcycle ride Stephen! :0)

An oldie but a goodie of the six of us....
