Our Little Man

Our handsome man at seven weeks old.

Jackson's room is getting a little more complete.

Jackson's first swim on the fourth of July

Isn't he a cute little bug?

Okay, so I rotated this before loading but it didn't save that way...anyways, this was Tony's first Father's Day.

It sure is amazing how time flies! Jackson will be eight weeks old on Friday...already!! Sorta blows my mind really. He got his first shot at his 6 week appointment and boy was he a trooper. I held down his upper half while the nurse held down his bottom half and gave him the shot. He yelled really loudly twice and it lasted maybe five seconds and then he was over it. What a man! The doctor said he is in something like the 90th percentile for his weight and height. He is 23 inches long and weighed almost 12 1/2 lbs. He is a growing boy indeed! Ya know, he isn't really fat....except those cheeks! They are chipmunk-esk. :0) He is getting more fun by the day. He has started making lots of new noises and is now learning to swat at the toys on his little floor mat. Our wonderful neighbors passed along a Little Tikes tool table for when he gets bigger. They cleaned it up and brought it over today. Jackson and Daddy will be having so much fun on that thing when he gets big enough to play with it. Until then, Tony will enjoy it! Ha! We have such wonderful neighbors. If anyone actually reads this thing, be praying for us. We are currently searching for babysitter and meeting potential people to watch Jackson. Our sitter fell through and so we are searching for some one to take him when school starts in two and a half weeks. It is going to be so very difficult leaving him and I it. I would just love to stay at home with him. Anyways, enough rambling for now.

Introducing Jackson John Schurger

We would like to introduce to everyone our handsome son Jackson John Schurger. He was born May 28th, 2010 at 1:05 a.m. He weighed 7lbs. 7 oz. and was 21.5 inches long. In true Schurger style, Jackson made a grand entrance. I was induced around 5:00 on Thursday evening. I was having some pretty intense back labor but was attempting to hang in and not take any medicine. About 10 or 11 the doctor came in to check me and notice that I was only 3-4 cm. At that time, the nurse asked him if we even knew if this baby was head down. He did an ultrasound and confirmed that Jackson was actually sitting Frank breech (butt down, legs folded up by his ears). The doc then began talking to us about our options: try to turn the baby (which would hurt my greatly and only had about a 35% chance of working), c-section (my greatest fear), or having me get an epidural (one of my other great fears) to relax my body and try to deliver him breech (assuming the baby wasn't in distress). After talking with Tony, I decided that I was going to try to stick it out and deliver Jackson with the help of the epidural. I was later told that if I had any other doctor that there is no way that I would have even been given the choice. At about 12:00 I was given the epidural. Not long after, the doctor came in to check me before he was supposed to be heading upstairs for a c-section. He wanted to check me and thought that when he was done in an hour it would be time for me to deliver. He soon realized that I had progressed so quickly that he needed to hold off the other c-section and deliver me. The next thing I knew, there were like 8 people in the room scurrying around trying to get things ready. Shortly after, our baby boy was born! When a joy and a blessing he is! God was so faithful in protecting both Jackson and I through this delivery and in giving Tony the strength he needed to support me. I know that this was no picnic on Tony either. God is so good!

Baby's Room

Well, as we sit and try to "patiently" wait on this little one to get here, we thought we'd post some over due pictures of the baby's room pretty much finished. The only thing that needs done are some curtains at some point and to hang a couple of frames that we have.

Baby Showers and Preggo Pics

Tony and I cannot tell you how blessed and loved we have felt lately. We have the most amazing family and friends that care enough to bless us during the exciting time as we prepare for our peanut. We love you all dearly! The past two weekends have been baby shower's with our families. The Schurger side gathered two weekends ago and my side this past weekend. I think my favorite part was just getting to see family and friends and to fellowship with them. It is starting to really hit how soon this little one will be here. We have been working a lot this weekend to get the room ready. We will post pictures when we are done!
